Crystal ERP vs Spreadsheets

Spreadsheets are flexible for analysis. Daily transactions become harder to control when several people maintain separate sales, stock and debtor files.

Where manual reconciliation grows

A sale may be entered in a till sheet, copied into stock and copied again into a customer account. Each additional copy creates another opportunity for delay or mismatch. A connected system keeps the underlying transaction and related records together.

Your working checklist

  • Count how many times the same transaction is entered.
  • Identify files that only one person can explain.
  • List recurring stock and debtor reconciliation differences.
  • Keep spreadsheets for analysis where they remain useful.

Put it into practice

Migration is not simply uploading every old workbook. Clean item codes, reconcile customer balances and approve opening stock before import. Keep an archive of the old records and test a sample of balances after cutover.
